Safety Officer (SO2)

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer (SO2) to oversee and implement workplace health and safety programs for a construction-related project at Shaw Center Mall, Manila. The selected candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a culture of safety, and support project operations in maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor occupational health and safety policies and procedures on-site.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and hazard assessments.
• Ensure compliance with DOLE regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Facilitate toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and training programs.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and prepare reports with corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Maintain safety documentation, permits, and compliance records.
• Liaise with government agencies and support local permit applications when required.
• Monitor contractor compliance with site safety requirements.
• Promote safety awareness among project personnel.

Qualifications

Required

• Valid Safety Officer 2 (SO2) License/Certification.
• Experience in a construction-related environment preferred.
• Knowledge of occupational safety and health regulations.
• Familiarity with DOLE requirements and local permit applications is an advantage.
• Strong communication and reporting skills.

Preferred

• Certified First Aider Training.
• Experience working on commercial construction or mall fit-out projects.

Residence Requirement

• Must be resident within Manila.
• Candidates living near Shaw Boulevard or adjacent areas will be highly preferred.
